Welcome to BEA - the core facility for Bioinformatics and Expression Analysis located at the Department of biosciences and nutrition at Novum.
The core facility was launched in June 2003 and includes the Affymetrix core facility, which has been operative since January 2001. At present,
the core facility is financed by grants from the Karolinska Institutet, the Karolinska University Hospital and user fees.
We provide services for microarray analysis,
including sample preparation, hybridization and preliminary evaluation. We also offer additional bioinformatic support.

New overhead in January
As of Jan 1st, 2010 with the introduction of the new system to calculate indirect costs at KI, BEA will add overhead (OH) to all its invoice. The exact figure is not decided yet but is likely to be around 25%. OH will not be charged at the department where the cost to pay these invoices is generated. For Two-Cycle kit users:
Please note that the Two-Cycle Target Labeling and Control Reagents will only be available until September 2009 from Affymetrix, and BEA will only be able to offer this kit for a limited time period after that. The new 3' IVT Express Kit can be used for as little as 50 ng total RNA for a single round of amplification.
